It was fortunate for me that Spring day – 1 September – and my weekly Friday visit to Emseni Primary School coincided. As part of the fund raising activities the school was holding a dance off.

And the winner is…
A dance off follows a simple format: a group of children dances and performs with the crowd cheering for the one they like best. The winner is the one with the loudest cheers and applause.
Invariably I was asked to dance off against the principal, Nqobi. I usually have 2 left feet when it comes to this type of thing but I think I put in a good showing. The school seemed to agree, declaring me the winner!
